The UConn Center for Career Readiness and Life Skills goes beyond job boards to help you build a strong foundation for your future. Services include résumé and CV reviews, career coaching, networking tips, and employer connections, all tailored to where you are in your academic and career journey.

Meet with a Career Coach

Career coaching appointments are one-on-one sessions designed to help students and postdocs identify and achieve their professional goals. Coaching sessions can be self-scheduled on the Center’s website and cover a range of topics like career exploration, résumé and CV revisions, job and internship search, and practice interviews.

Start Your Academic Job Search

Considering a career in academia? The Center offers academic job application resources that can help you find, apply for, and interview for your next position. Resources include online job search tools and application material guidance.

Learn how to Write a CV and Cover Letter

The Center offers a variety of guides and resources for creating effective professional materials, including your Curriculum Vitae (CV), résumé, cover letter, writing samples, and statements on research, teaching, and diversity.

Attend a Career Event

The Center’s calendar of events features seminars, careers fairs, networking opportunities, and alumni and employer career panels with some tailored specifically for graduate students and postdocs.


Enroll in a Career Readiness Course

The Center offers a Career Readiness for Graduate Students course through HuskyCT. This asynchronous, self-guided course includes modules covering key areas of your career development, including job and internship search, preparing professional materials, interviewing, using LinkedIn, and applying for academic jobs.
