The College facilitates mentoring groups that engage junior faculty in discussions about a topic of interest. Hosted by experienced CLAS faculty members, these groups meet once per month throughout the academic year.
The 2023-2024 mentoring groups will be hosted by:
- Expectations and Opportunities for In-Residence Faculty (mostly virtual meetings): Michael Finiguerra, Associate Professor-in-Residence of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, and Natalia Smirnova, Associate Professor-in-Residence of Economics
- Research (mostly in-person meetings in Storrs): Inge-Marie Eigsti, Professor of Psychological Sciences, and Jane Gordon, Professor of Political Science
- Teaching (mostly virtual meetings): Françoise Dussart, Professor of Anthropology, and John Redden, Associate Professor-in-Residence of Physiology and Neurobiology
To participate in a mentoring group for the 2023-2024 academic year, please complete the registration form by Thursday, Oct. 19.
Note that topics for initial conversations are provided to help guide your choice of which group to join. However, it is anticipated that the discussions within these cohorts will evolve over the course of the year to cover a range of other areas. Meeting schedules will be determined once the groups are formed. More information about other mentoring initiatives is available on the CLAS Faculty Success webpage.
