The 2020-2021 CLAS Student Leadership Board application is now open!
The application will close on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at 11:59 p.m.
How to Apply
Eligible applicants must be undergraduate students in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences who have spent at least one semester at UConn. Students from all UConn campuses are eligible and encouraged to apply.
Selected candidates will hear back in early March and will be invited to participate in interviews after spring break. Students will be invited to join the Board in early April and are expected to attend a Summer Retreat on Friday, August 28, 2020 to kick off their participation on the Board for the upcoming academic year.
Please note: The CLAS Student Leadership Board meets on Thursdays from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Candidates must be available during that time to be considered for the 2020-2021 academic year.

About the Board
The CLAS Student Leadership Board is a group of undergraduates committed to strengthening and enhancing the academic experience and student community in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. The Board's mission is to serve the College's community as liaisons between the Dean and the students in order to enhance communications, academic experiences, and alumni connections while embodying the values of a liberal arts and sciences education.
The 2019-2020 Board comprises more than 20 undergraduate students studying in the liberal arts and sciences. The group meets regularly throughout the academic year. Opportunities for professional development include leadership experience, project and event management, marketing and communication skill development, student community development, public speaking, and business decision-making.
Attendance at biweekly meetings to discuss ideas for improvement of the College.
Participation in the following events:

- UConn Open Houses
- Networking nights
- Career events
- CLAS SundaeFest
- Study with CLAS
Working with other members to plan and carry out creative projects that communicate the CLAS mission to current students.
Providing advice to the Dean and College staff on ways to create a cohesive and inclusive CLAS student community.
