Rosemarie A. Burton, BS ‘66 (child development and family relations), Kimberly Manning, BA ‘83 (English), and Caren Kittredge, BA ’83 (individualized major) are among the eight women featured as 2009 Remarkable Women in Business in the weekly Hartford Business Journal. Burton is president of Klingberg Famly Centers, a nonprofit social services agency in New Britain. She is a member of the board of directors of the National Association for Children’s Behavioral Health and Special Olympics Connecticut, among others. Manning is co-owner and partner in Cronin and Co. LLC, Glastonbury, the largest adverting agency in Connecticut. She joined Cronin in 1988 as an account executive and served as senior vice president and director of strategic planning before she and Steve Wolfberg, chief creative officer, purchased the company in March 2008. Kittredge, head of national marketing, local and regional business, for Aetna, recently was appointed by Gov. M. Jodi Rell as the new chair of Bradley International Airport’s board of directors. She is also president of the Bushnell Park Foundation and serves on several other public boards and commissions. The women will be honored at a luncheon on May 12 at the Hilton Hotel in Hartford.
