The Dean’s Fund
 |
| Dean Ross D. MacKinnon |
The Dean’s Fund each year provides an edge for excellence in CLAS by supporting activities that contribute significantly to advancing research, teaching, and public service in the liberal arts and sciences.
Scholarships for outstanding students in need, summer undergraduate research support, and extra support for innovative programs that bridge different disciplines are among the ways the Dean’s Fund is used.
It has helped to fund new laboratory set-ups for incoming faculty, supplemented packages used to recruit and retain the best faculty, and contributed toward the purchase of highly specialized scientific instruments.
It funds scholarly lectures and public talks by our faculty experts and distinguished visitors. It supports public educational activities such as the BioBlitz ecology workshops and species count and the quarterly publication, The Connecticut Economy.
The Dean’s Fund helped to establish the Human Rights Institute and has provided extra support for the academic advising of undergraduates.
Your gift to the CLAS Dean’s Fund provides the College with the flexibility needed to meet pressing needs in areas of growth. It allows us to pursue intellectual excellence by responding to opportunities in teaching, learning, and research as they arise.
